In this gallery you can see some of the artworks from Stefania Marano. She used a very traditional technique, a “pre-wheel” technique known as “hand-coiling” or in Italian “colombino” and “lucignolo”. In this technique the pottery is entirely made in the traditional (hand-coiled) way, the clay is cleaned and soaked and rolled and coiled to form the new pot. After the pot is shaped,a slip (a fine sand or clay mixture) is applied. The pot is now polished, painted, and fired. She work mostly with ceramics and her works are permanently exposed at “D’A Gallery” in Vitorchiano.
